Get your hands on fossils, learn about local geology or take a walking tour of Ottawa’s stone buildings during Geoheritage Day on Sunday, Oct. 18.
Join volunteers from Carleton University’s Department of Earth Sciences and the Ottawa-Gatineau Geoheritage Project to learn how geological processes have shaped the landscape and provided resources for our use.
Activities for all ages will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at eight locations across the city including Champlain Lookout, Hogs Back Park, Pinhey’s Point, and the Billings Estate.
